I missed my window to send Christmas cards this year. *is baffled* Not sure how that happened. I've sent out 40+ cards each of the last five years or so. But, the season charges on and I am without time to do it. C'est la.

Perhaps I'll send Valentines instead this year. Anyway, how's your holiday season going?

So for those of you with Facebook & LJ, which do you prefer? Or if not a matter or decided preference, which do you use more? Do you find yourself using both with the same frequency?

I was thinking about that today since I now visit Facebook every single day, sometimes multiple times, like I used to do here. It's not remotely the same kind of communications or friendships, yet there's something so easy about picking through discreet bits of info on Facebook. I can't dash by LJ and feel "connected" in the same way. Which of course has made me start thinking (again) about the nature of human communication and connection in the digital age.

Check out this NY Times article for some really interesting thoughts on digital intimacy, particularly in regards to the amount and frequency of information we take in. I don't know the answer (an more importantly, I don't know the question I'm trying to ask), but I'm really interested in reading more about the ways in which we humans connect with each other through technology. Is it better? What does "better" mean? What do you think?

Looks like I've got more than I can keep up with at the moment, and I'm removing people I haven't had any exchanges with for awhile, and communities and feeds I don't pay attention to. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me for a time. If anyone would like to de-friend me, it's okay - no hard feelings. I can understand how it feels to get overwhelmed by entries to read.

Yours...

Dudes. I am back in CA. I am well. It was a great, great trip to NY and I will tell you about it later.

However, IN VERY IMPORTANT NEWS: while I was away, the Indian restaurant 4 blocks from my apartment went out of business. WOE! We ate there once every week or two and it is very, very sad that it is gone. RIP, Sabina.
