So for those of you with Facebook & LJ, which do you prefer? Or if not a matter or decided preference, which do you use more? Do you find yourself using both with the same frequency?
I was thinking about that today since I now visit Facebook every single day, sometimes multiple times, like I used to do here. It's not remotely the same kind of communications or friendships, yet there's something so easy about picking through discreet bits of info on Facebook. I can't dash by LJ and feel "connected" in the same way. Which of course has made me start thinking (again) about the nature of human communication and connection in the digital age.
Check out
this NY Times article for some really interesting thoughts on digital intimacy, particularly in regards to the amount and frequency of information we take in. I don't know the answer (an more importantly, I don't know the question I'm trying to ask), but I'm really interested in reading more about the ways in which we humans connect with each other through technology. Is it better? What does "better" mean? What do you think?
